Belgium secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Türkiye in the UEFA Nations League match held in Liege on Friday. This result marked Türkiye’s third consecutive defeat in the tournament, leaving them at the bottom of Group A1 without any points.
Kevin De Bruyne was instrumental in Belgium’s triumph, scoring twice to propel his team to victory. His first goal came after a neat exchange of passes with Dodi Lukebakio, culminating in a precise shot from the edge of the penalty area. Türkiye attempted to respond by pushing forward for an equalizer but struggled to capitalize on their chances.
De Bruyne further extended Belgium’s lead with a remarkable curling effort that found the top corner of the net. The match saw Romelu Lukaku, who was introduced as a substitute in the 61st minute, adding to the scoreline 15 minutes later. Lukaku connected with a low cross from Charles De Ketelaere to seal the win for Belgium.
With this victory, Belgium moved to six points in the group standings, just one point behind France, who currently lead Group A1. On the other hand, Türkiye’s struggles in the competition continue, as they remain without a point after three matches.
Looking ahead, Türkiye faces a challenging encounter against Italy on October 5. Compounding their difficulties, key players Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz will be unavailable for selection due to suspensions incurred from yellow card accumulations.
