Digital Sales Boost Ryder Cup Ticket Prices to £434 Daily in Ireland

Ryder Cup Europe has announced a significant increase in ticket prices for next year’s prestigious event at Adare Manor in County Limerick, where the United States will aim to reclaim the trophy. Fans from Ireland will have the opportunity to purchase daily tickets for €499 (£434) starting Friday, a substantial rise from the €260 paid by spectators in Rome three years ago. This adjustment reflects the event’s growing stature and the global changes over the past four years.

While the daily ticket prices have reached a record high for a European-hosted Ryder Cup, it’s noteworthy that fans paid $750 (£555) for the event at Bethpage in New York last year. To make the event more accessible, practice-day tickets are set at €89 for adults and €20 for children on Tuesday and Wednesday, with prices increasing to €179 and €30 on Thursday, which includes the opening ceremony.

Richard Atkinson, the chief Ryder Cup officer, emphasized the effort to maintain accessibility despite the price hike, stating, “Our prices are proportionate to a global sporting event. This event has grown in stature and profile, it’s one of the biggest sporting events in the world. We’re confident in our pricing but we’ve made it accessible to everyone.” He acknowledged the price increase from Rome, noting the broader global context since then, while highlighting that the prices remain lower than at Bethpage.

Organizers are striving to enhance the experience for attendees, promising an “enhanced experience” when the Ryder Cup returns to Ireland for the first time since 2006, an event won by Europe at Straffan, County Kildare. Plans include a record 20,000 grandstand seats and an increased number of giant screens, aiming to offer fans an unforgettable experience.
